My crave for Thai food is as strong as ever! For those who are sick of hearing how much I love Thai food, it's time to close this window :P
Living in Bandar Utama has its own perks! For one, it only take less than 5min for me to get into my car, drive to 1Utama Shopping Centre, park and start shopping (most of the time it'll be window shopping or just for the sake of bringing Sher Ryn around). I was feeling lazy to drive far these days and therefore, nearby malls are the obvious choice.
We noticed that this place was doing promotion with CIMB, HSBC, One Card with 10% discount given on food & beverages. Feeling lazy to walk further, both of us decided to have our lunch here.
The interior was spacious & cosy, just perfect for us who brought Sher Ryn along.
Both of us opted for dishes that we love... starting with Tom Yam seafood. The thing that I love most is the tomyam but somehow they managed to wreck my appetite!...Salty!
Phad Mee Siam with chicken @ RM12 - Salty!!
Signature Pineapple Fried Rice with Prawn @ RM15 - Salty!!!!
My order of Thai iced tea @ RM9 didn't help either. This drink was similar to 3 layered ice tea with gula melaka & evaporated milk but it was very sweet.
Leo's verdict - Just a few mouth of what we had ordered, I just asked for the bill, paid the money and walked out without even looking back. One word to summarize my dining experience... SALTY!!! The cook must have had a very bad day or in a very bad mood... nonetheless, I don't think that I'll be going back again.

yup, not so good here i agree :(
Haha, methinks there's one too many "Salty!!" :P
heheh, i didn't close the window cos i haven't been to this outlet yet :D
it takes me ages to find (sheltered) parking in 1 utama!!! more than 10 minutes often...
the chef seems very "ham"sap :p
Ooh! That place is part of an ubiquitous chain. Never remembered it being terribly appetizing, but it was not that bad. Their flagship Bangkok Jam near Low Yat is a better bet. But my Thai fix in KL is still the papa mama joint near home. Kick ass som tam and if you like it, Pla Ra (Fermented fish sauce) and preserved mini crabs thrown in, if you request for it.
If you are in town, drop by and give me a tweet. Their Tom Yam is not great, but the tom sep is excellent!
Haiyoh. Salty!, salty!, salty! and very sweet - what a waste....
:(
ouch ouch..so looks like being convenient is not good enough.
saltiness in food is a big letdown !!
cumi&ciki - at least i know that I'm not alone :)
life for beginners - yup!
Sean - I know a place where you don't have to spend much time finding a carpark :) and it's sheltered too!
babe_kl - LOL!! I think so too :D
paranoid android - by "in town", you mean in Changkat Bukit Bintang area??
J - yeah, waste paying $$$
Joe - will try out other Thai outlets in 1Utama soon
foodbin - actually I have quite high tolerance to salty food, but this place is too much!
i've heard of bad comments previously too :(
Bro. Try out Funky Village at e-curve. My taste buds approve :) But nor recommended if MSG intolerant ;)
Aiyor, this place is strictly NOT recommended la! Tried it once & never went back ever since.
Hehe, u shd hv called me 1st b4 trying this - 1U is like my 2nd home. The Thai restaurant over at the New Wing is much better, but maybe becos of its location (in a slow-traffic corner), it's not as busy. Try that the next time u hv yr Thai cravings :-)
LOL.
Yea..Funky Villa's the one to go to! if in malls!
