Wondermilk @ Damansara Utama (Uptown) PJ

I stumbled upon this place by coincidence. My car was being serviced just a few doors away from this rather interesting shop. A Lot of curious people popped in to have a look. It is located same row as Brother Peter where most of the car accessories shops are located.

They had interesting approach to the interior. There are tables and chairs outside for smokers while there are also mix-and-match combination of sofa, picnic bench + tables.

Outside...
Inside...

Their specialty is cupcakes... but of course, I noticed that they offer sandwiches & drinks...

They also sell dresses...

There are 2 sizes for the cupcakes - maxi and mini @ RM4.50 and RM2.00 respectively, with quite a number of selections available.

We had Oh My Choc & Oh My Peanut Butter Choc + iced lemon tea/tea/coffee @ RM10.00 (2 maxi cupcakes + drink). Even though the cupcakes were very sweet, I liked them very much...

I just couldn't resist for another one - Cookies & Cream Dream.. hahaha!

Leo's verdict - a lot of new concept restaurants offering cupcakes in the market lately. Wondermilk is one of them.. they offer an interesting idea on birthday cakes, gifts, etc...

I love the way they design the whole place - creative & simple coupled with easy listening music to create good feeling for patrons. Great place to hangout if you are looking for a place for a quick bite, or satisfy your sweet craving. Those with sweet teeth will definitely love this place. However, the name of this shop is quite hard to notice, as it's on a retractable awning and about 45 degrees facing up.

Face-to-Face Noodle House @ Damansara utama (Uptown) PJ

At first, I was like... wtf is this name? Then I realised the truth behind its name. In Chinese, face & noodle sound and written exactly the same. This place offers a lot of varieties of pan mee and also sarawak noodles. Of course, they have their own specialty dish - hot & spicy pan mee.

The dinner crowd suggest that their food is commendable for a commercial area that is almost deserted at night...

Other condiments that you can add to spice up your dish :)

RM5.30 for the hot & spicy pan mee (dry) - you'd find the pan mee mixed with their homemade chilly flakes with belacan. Not enough? Spicy freak? There's still one whole jar of the flakes for you to add just in case :)

I had the dry curry pan mee instead @ RM5.80 - just like any conventional dry curry noodle but using pan mee. However, the curry powder was quite heavy and therefore, I didn't really like it.

Chrysanthemum tea @ RM2.00 - it's hard to find boiled tea these days... coz it's easier if you just sell canned drinks.

Leo's verdict - no service nor government tax and thus, no hidden charges. Definitely near my house and provide quick fix for my pan mee craving.

Prince Cafe @ SS2, Petaling Jaya

Yup.. another Hong Kong style cafe joint that has infiltrated Malaysia. We had to wait for about 10 minutes due to the lunch crowd in this area.

The interior is white and green... and I like the blackboard in which they use to write all the available dishes... convenient to add and delete their menu from time to time...

We wasted no time to place our order once we were seated. They offer a variety of lunch set for office workers. I wanted to try the pork chop with butter sauce & rice, but it was unavailable so I opted for garlic sauce instead. Overall the dish was Ok... but I noticed that the pork chop was very thin (less than 1cm) compared to the last time when I ate here... the garlic sauce was great nevertheless.

Jenn tried their fried rice with five spices pork dices. As we can substitute the complimentary soup with drinks, I ordered my favourite iced yin yang. They used a square plate for the fried rice (but ever notice the rice portion is quite small too?).

My favourite iced Yin Yong HK style :)

Leo's verdict - other than Kim Gary, this cafe's food & drinks were quite good. As the nearest Kim Gary is in Mid Valley, normally i would come to Prince instead whenever I want to eat HK style food.

Thai Express @ The Curve, Mutiara Damansara

Thinking of what to eat for lunch, Jenn & I passed by this outlet. Express = fast & we need a quick fix for our hunger. So we just popped in & placed our order.

Iced lemongrass tea @ RM5.90 - it looked like plain water (colourless) when served but one sip was all it took to know that it tasted plain too without much lemongrass flavour. Disappointed!

Initially, Jenn asked for som tum but it was unavailable.. so she ordered tom yam soup with chicken @ RM9.90 - the soup was the clear type. It was quite spicy with generous amount of chicken & oyster mushroom. No complain!

As for me, it would be khao mun gai or bangkok chicken rice with special thai ginger-chilly sauce @ RM16.90 - the name sounded attractive even though I had no idea on what it was. It's Thai version of chicken rice. The chicken was deep fried & the rice was served in claypot (oily rice).

Leo's verdict - the only thing that bugged me was the malfunction air-cond which apparently has been like that for a long time. I remembered that it was the same on my first time here. I was sweating while eating... not a very good eating experience. But then, the food was OK! For those who are afraid of heat, please sit outside instead.. coz at least there's wind!
